Anytime Repair & Service

Anytime Repair & Service – Kennewick, WA

For drivers in Kennewick and across the Tri-Cities, few things are more stressful than a breakdown on the side of the road. When that happens, local mechanic Mike Boothe is one of the rare people who still shows up at all hours with a truck, tools, and more than 35 years of automotive experience to get you moving again.

Based out of 108 W Columbia Dr in Kennewick, Anytime Repair & Service combines around-the-clock roadside assistance with a modest yard/shop space where Mike can tackle everything from basic maintenance to more involved repairs.

Roadside roots and a lifetime under the hood

Mike has been turning wrenches professionally for roughly three and a half decades. In 2014, he decided it was finally time to step out on his own and opened Anytime Repair & Service.

The original concept was simple and old-school: road service only. Mike worked straight out of his truck, driving directly to the vehicle; whether it was in a parking lot, on a job site, or parked on the side of the road, and fixing what he could on the spot. That willingness to go where the customer was, instead of making the customer come to a shop, quickly became the backbone of the business early on.

From truck-only to a working yard and shop

Over time, demand grew so Mike added a yard space with covered storage and a small shop area in Kennewick. Today, he splits his time between working in that yard and heading out for mobile calls when people are stuck.

The setup is intentionally straightforward. Rather than a flashy storefront, customers will find a practical working yard where the focus is on getting vehicles fixed correctly, not selling extras. That blend, a shop environment plus fully equipped service truck, gives Anytime Repair & Service flexibility that many traditional garages simply don’t have.

24/7 help when you’re stranded

One of the biggest things that sets Anytime Repair & Service apart is Mike’s commitment to 24-hour roadside service. If someone is traveling through the area and breaks down, he does everything he can to prioritize those calls and get them back on the road as fast as possible.

Stories from customers highlight that commitment: families heading out on vacation who would have been stuck all weekend, truck owners broken down late at night, or drivers caught out in bad weather. Time and again, Mike shows up, diagnoses the problem, and does whatever he can to get them safely on their way.

The personal touch of a One-Man Shop

Ask Mike what he works on most days and you won’t get a single specialty, you’ll get “a little bit of everything.” He’ll do everything from simple oil changes to just about anything your vehicle will throw at you. No matter what it is that your vehicle is struggling with, Mike takes pride in getting every customer back up and running as quickly as possible.

He tends to prefer American makes because foreign parts and systems can get expensive, but at the end of the day, he treats it all as “nuts and bolts.” If he can safely and reliably fix it, he will. That versatility is especially valuable for customers who just want one person they trust to “figure it out” rather than bouncing between multiple specialty shops.

Veteran-owned, local, and focused on fairness

Anytime Repair & Service is a veteran-owned and operated business, something Mike takes quiet pride in. His approach is straightforward: customers are told what’s wrong, what it will take to fix it, and what it will cost before major work is done.

People who work with Mike often point to the same themes:

  • Fair pricing

  • Clear explanations

  • Willingness to show up in tough conditions

  • A no-nonsense attitude toward getting the job done

Several people have even referenced being charged less than the initial quote. It’s the kind of old-school mechanic experience that a lot of people remember from years past and don’t see as often anymore.

Staying small on purpose

In an era when many shops are chasing rapid growth, Mike is intentionally keeping Anytime Repair & Service small and personal.

For day-to-day work, he’s largely a one-man operation. When needed, he brings in a trusted helper, a former automotive instructor from Columbia Basin College, on specific jobs that benefit from a second experienced set of hands.

To better handle calls, scheduling, and customer communication, Mike is adding an office manager soon. The goal isn’t to grow into a large dealership-style operation, but to tighten up the business side so he can spend more of his time doing what he does best: working directly with vehicles and customers.

Looking ahead: A larger shop space

Right now, Anytime Repair operates mostly from a yard with covered work areas, but Mike has his eyes on a more permanent and larger shop space in the next couple of years. The dream is to find a bit larger shop with more room to work without sacrificing the hands-on, owner-operated feel of the business.

He isn’t interested in becoming a huge operation with layers of staff and management. Instead, his focus is on:

  • Securing a larger shop space

  • Maintaining direct, face-to-face relationships with customers

  • Growing steadily while keeping quality and responsiveness high

Over the next five years, Mike believes with a larger shop space he would have the capacity to increase his work load while still being hands on with every single client that comes his way.

The bottom line

Anytime Repair & Service is the kind of shop many Tri-Cities residents grew up with but don’t see as often anymore:

  • Veteran-owned and locally operated

  • Run by a mechanic with 35+ years of experience

  • Offering both 24/7 roadside help and on-site repairs at a Kennewick yard

  • Focused on fair pricing, practical solutions, and straight talk

Whether you’re stranded on the highway with a broken alternator, limping into town with suspension issues, or just need honest help keeping an older vehicle on the road, Mike Boothe and Anytime Repair & Service offer a dependable option in the Kennewick area.
